We are really proud to announce that we are the winners of the HISTeRIA FESTIVAL poster competition 2013!!!
What is HISTeRIA?
A magical site called Cantalone emerges in the Istrian woods every year; it is a kilometer long interactive visual installation created by several hundred artists from all over the world. More than a hundred concerts, theatre performances, circus spectacles, and other events are performed on some twenty thematically colored venues that are embedded in the natural environment. Numerous structures, stages and cupolas emerge from the pastures and woods ... there are acrobats hanging from the trees, art exhibitions are held between vineyards and fields, huge puppets move through the bushes. Dancing, ethno music, shadow, street, and puppet theatres, circus, painting, masks, architecture, documentary and animated films, land art. Different kinds of art merge and generate a unique performance, enabling the spectators to experience it in their own way as they join in the activity. Workshops for children, creative workshops, seminars, practical workshops for adults, amusement park in the forest, the open market selling ECO products, bookstores under the trees, good food and drink all add to the magical atmosphere.
Beside its artistic value, the event is important for its awareness raising. Cultural education, co-existence with nature, cherishing the tradition in a modern context – these are the important objectives of the Festival HISTeRIA. The purpose is to make the festival a platform for the exchange of expertise and experience, a catalyst for creating inter- generation ties, a place to establish international connections, and an opportunity to show and test green alternatives.
